Union Home Minister Amit Shah will preside over the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council in Shillong, Meghalaya, today.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, this session will involve a detailed deliberation and a review of the progress achieved by the High-Level Task Forces of Chief Ministers, which were established for regional development.

During this meeting, presentations will be delivered on key sectors such as tourism, agriculture and horticulture, investment promotion, self-reliance in the production of milk, eggs, fish, and meat, sports development, creation of economic corridors, infrastructure and connectivity, as well as handlooms and handicrafts.

It has also been clarified that the primary objective of this session is to accelerate the holistic development of North East India and to further strengthen coordination among the states.
