Protesters gathered outside President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office in Kyiv for a second consecutive day on Friday, demanding the dismissal of Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, following the removal of popular Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Demonstrators chanted, “Syrskyi away” and “Bring Fedorov back,” urging the government to listen to the voices of soldiers on the front lines. Many protesters argued that Ukraine’s military needs a more technology-driven approach and reforms to move away from outdated Soviet-era practices.

President Zelenskyy said he intervened because the rift between Syrskyi and Fedorov had become so deep that the two could no longer work together.
