Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today publicly supported the protest started by Cockroach Janata Party and environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk in JNU and Jantar Mantar areas in Delhi against alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.

He appealed to all political parties, including Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, to participate in this without any political flags and by putting aside political differences, at a press conference in Mumbai. Thackeray said that the protesters' demand that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resign and that the affected students get compensation in the wake of the NEET exam paper leak is right.

Thackeray said that Shiv Sena will also protest in Maharashtra to support the protesters' Parliament march on July 20.
