During the meeting, both leaders undertook a comprehensive review of bilateral relations across various sectors, including trade and investment, health, energy, digital connectivity, development partnerships, capacity building, and cultural cooperation. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the extremely close cultural ties between India and Laos. He noted that these ties are reflected in shared cultural values, such as the Ramayana and Buddhism. He further emphasized that the relationship between the two nations has a long history and is rooted in strong cultural and people-to-people connections.

Dr. Jaishankar stated that this meeting provided an opportunity to review the implementation of the various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Laos in October 2024, as well as to assess the progress made in diverse fields such as political cooperation, economic relations, defense, development partnerships, education, cultural exchanges, and multilateral cooperation.
