In Telangana, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated major action against Mari Vamshi Mohan, a 'Special Category Deputy Collector' stationed in Medchal-Malkajgiri, on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. An ACB team conducted raids at multiple locations linked to the Deputy Collector, unearthing assets worth crores of rupees. Preliminary investigations have revealed movable and immovable assets valued at over ₹6.22 crore. However, investigative agencies estimate that the actual market value of these assets could be significantly higher than this figure.

During the raids, officials recovered documents pertaining to 19 open plots valued at ₹4.46 crore. Additionally, an independent bungalow located in 'NGO Colony' at Vanasthalipuram was discovered. The investigation also brought to light two luxurious flats in the Manikonda and Majidbanda areas, estimated to be worth ₹1.12 crore. Meanwhile, a farmhouse spread across 2 acres in Narrepally village, Ibrahimpatnam, has also come under the scanner of the investigative agencies.

The raids resulted in the seizure of ₹2.10 lakh in cash, bank deposits totaling ₹20 lakh, and gold jewelry weighing 122 grams. Furthermore, two vehicles—a Toyota Innova Crysta and a Kia—valued at ₹32 lakh were also seized. Investigative agencies have also uncovered a suspicious transaction involving 8 acres of agricultural land in Piglipur village. It is alleged that this land was purchased in 2023 in the name of the concerned official's father-in-law, Vijay Bhaskar. Currently, the ACB is conducting a thorough investigation into this entire matter, and the scrutiny of the sources of these assets is still underway.
