The monsoon session of Parliament began in New Delhi today. However, on the first day of the session, the opposition created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over the alleged paper leak in the NEET-UG exam and other issues. Due to this, the proceedings of both the houses had to be adjourned several times and were finally adjourned for the day at 3 pm.

The Lok Sabha opened with tributes to six former MPs who passed away. As soon as the Question Hour began, opposition members raised slogans on the NEET-UG paper leak case and the alleged irregularities in the donation for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The members also displayed placards. As a result, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla adjourned the proceedings till 12 noon.

Speaker Om Birla expressed his strong displeasure over the sloganeering by two members while the condolence motion was being taken up. He said that this was not in keeping with parliamentary tradition and appealed to the members to allow the proceedings of the House to continue smoothly. However, as the uproar continued, the Lok Sabha was adjourned four times and finally adjourned for the day.

A similar picture was seen in the Rajya Sabha. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of NEET-UG paper leak and said that this issue is related to the future of lakhs of students. He mentioned that it is necessary to discuss this issue seriously beyond politics and take concrete measures.

However, as the opposition continued to disrupt the proceedings, the Rajya Sabha was also adjourned repeatedly. After being adjourned three times, the Rajya Sabha was finally adjourned for the day at 3 pm.
