On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (ST) has launched a state-wide, state-of-the-art cleanliness drive starting today.

The campaign was inaugurated by Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik at the Parel bus station in Mumbai.

Under this initiative, ST buses, bus stations, rest rooms for drivers and conductors, and washrooms across the state will be cleaned every four hours using modern equipment. Additionally, plastic waste accumulating at the stations will be collected for recycling.

The ST Corporation has resolved to set up charging stations for e-buses at all 251 depots across the state; against this backdrop, the Transport Minister also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for nine expanded charging units at the Parel depot today.
