On the occasion of the Ashadhi Wari, the Palkhi (palanquin procession) of Jagadguru Shri Sant Tukaram Maharaj departed from Dehu for Pandharpur yesterday amidst a deeply devotional atmosphere. Thousands of Warkaris are participating in this procession, chanting "Dnyanoba-Tukaram."

To mark the commencement of the procession, Sunetra Pawar—the State's Deputy Chief Minister and the Guardian Minister of Pune District—performed the ritualistic worship of Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s *Padukas* (sacred sandals) and offered prayers at the Shila Mandir in Dehu. Various public representatives and dignitaries, including MP Shrirang Barne, were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, following the departure of Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s Palkhi, the Palkhi of Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj is set to depart from Alandi for Pandharpur today. Against this backdrop, the district administration has implemented necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Warkaris.

With heavy rainfall continuing in many parts of the state, the district administration has urged Warkaris to halt at safe locations, take appropriate precautions amidst the rainy weather, and strictly adhere to the instructions issued by the administration, police, and disaster management departments.

Various agencies have been kept on alert along the Palkhi route to handle health, traffic, security, and disaster management requirements. The administration is continuously monitoring the situation to ensure a safe and smooth journey for the Warkaris.
