Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary at the Union Ministry of Shipping, stated today during an inter-ministerial press conference that two LPG carrier vessels bound for India are expected to arrive at the ports of Kandla and New Mangalore on May 16 and 18, respectively, having safely transited the Strait of Hormuz.

He further informed that the Indian vessel 'Haji Ali' sank following a fire that broke out after an attack within Oman's maritime territory; however, all crew members on board were safely rescued by the Omani Coast Guard and are reported to be safe and sound.

Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum, stated during the same press conference that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, LPG, and natural gas are currently available in the country, thanks to various effective measures implemented by the Government of India.
