In the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament, defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore have successfully retained their title. In the final match held last night at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Bangalore defeated the Gujarat Titans by five wickets.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Gujarat Titans posted a total of 155 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Washington Sundar played an unbeaten innings of 50 runs. For Bangalore, Rasikh Salam Dar claimed 3 wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets each.

In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down the target comfortably, scoring 161 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. The team secured the victory on the strength of an unbeaten innings of 75 runs by Virat Kohli. For Gujarat, Rashid Khan took 2 wickets. Kohli was awarded the 'Man of the Match' title.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Suryavanshi won the 'Orange Cap' by scoring 776 runs. At just 15 years and 65 days of age, he became the youngest player ever to receive this award. South Africa's Kagiso Rabada won the 'Purple Cap' by taking 29 wickets.

Manish Pandey received the 'Catch of the Season' award, while Mohammed Siraj bowled the highest number of dot balls—172—during the season. Sai Sudharsan won the award for hitting the most fours, with a tally of 75 boundaries. Vaibhav Suryavanshi also received honors for being the 'Emerging Player,' for recording the highest strike rate (237.3), and for hitting the most sixes (72).
