The state government has provided relief to the Warkari and devotees going towards Pandharpur on the occasion of Ashadhi Wari. It has been decided to exempt the vehicles of Warkari and devotees from toll at the toll stations on the routes through which the 10 prestigious palanquins of Ashadhi Wari pass.

The Public Works Department has issued a circular in this regard. This discount will be applicable at toll plazas under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, National Highways and National Highways Authority.

This decision has been taken to ensure that the Warkaris and devotees participating in the Ashadhi Wari do not face any difficulties during their journey, and to ensure that the planning of the palanquin ceremony is carried out smoothly.

Instructions have been given to the relevant agencies to take necessary action at the relevant toll stations and not charge tolls on the vehicles of Warkari and devotees participating in the palanquin ceremonies of saints.

Every year, lakhs of Warkaris participate in the Pandharpur Wari along with the palanquins of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, Sant Tukaram Maharaj and other dignitaries. In this backdrop, the administration is preparing for transportation arrangements, health facilities, security and other necessary measures.
