The summer annual edition of Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan was officially inaugurated today, August 14, 2026, in the gracious presence of President Droupadi Murmu. The seasonal opening provides citizens and international visitors an exclusive opportunity to explore the meticulously landscaped gardens, sprawling lawns, and diverse flora within the historic presidential estate in New Delhi.

Following the initial ceremonial opening, Amrit Udyan will be accessible to the general public from August 16 to September 15, 2026. Visitors can stroll through the grounds between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily, with the last entry permitted at 5:15 PM. To ensure smooth maintenance operations, the gardens will remain closed on Mondays throughout the one-month public viewing period.

Entry Logistics and Registration Process

Entry for all visitors will be facilitated exclusively through Gate No. 35 of Rashtrapati Bhavan, located near North Avenue. Entry to the garden remains entirely free of cost. To ensure seamless crowd management and convenience, visitors can reserve their entry slots online through the official Rashtrapati Bhavan web portal or utilize self-service registration kiosks situated right outside Gate No. 35 on the day of their visit.

To further improve accessibility for tourists and local commuters, the administration has arranged dedicated shuttle bus services running at 30-minute intervals between the Central Secretariat Metro Station and Gate No. 35 throughout the visiting hours.

Special Dedicated Days and Visitor Amenities

In a unique policy gesture this season, the administration has earmarked specific days for distinct citizen groups. For the first time, Amrit Udyan will host a dedicated public opening for athletes and sportspersons on August 29 to mark National Sports Day. Similarly, on September 5, Teachers' Day, entry will be exclusively reserved for school and college educators to honor their academic contributions.

Inside the garden complex, visitors will have access to eco-friendly drinking water stations, designated rest areas, baby care facilities, and medical assistance counters. Trained guides and information displays will also be available to educate school groups and botanical enthusiasts on the rare horticultural species housed within the estate.
