An old two-storey residential building in Dhangar Gali in Somwar Peth collapsed completely on Monday evening due to the ongoing heavy rains in Pune. It was reported that the incident took place due to the weakening of the foundation of the old building due to the continuous rains.

In this incident, a major disaster was averted due to the vigilance of the Pune Fire Department. After realizing that the building was in a dangerous condition, the fire department personnel promptly evacuated the entire mansion and shifted the residents to a safe place. After some time, the entire two-story mansion collapsed like a house of cards.

According to official information provided by the Pune Fire Department, there were no casualties or injuries in the incident as no one was inside the building when the palace collapsed.

Meanwhile, a shocking video of the entire palace collapsing to the ground in just a few seconds has surfaced and is going viral on social media.

In the wake of the continuous rains, the administration has appealed to citizens living in old and dilapidated buildings in the Peth area to remain alert and cooperate with emergency services and follow the administration's instructions.
