During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Norway, a magnificent display of Indian heritage was once again unveiled. In Oslo, Prime Minister Modi presented special gifts to the Prime Minister of Norway, the King, the Queen, and the Crown Prince—gifts that offered a profound glimpse into the biodiversity of the Himalayas, the centuries-old ancient art of Odisha, and the spiritual essence of India.

To the Prime Minister of Norway, Prime Minister Modi presented a framed picture featuring specially dried orchid flowers, accompanied by a paperweight adorned with orchid motifs. Crafted from authentic orchids and ferns sourced from the mist-shrouded valleys of Sikkim, these artworks serve as symbols of the rich biodiversity found in the Eastern Himalayas. Local artisans have meticulously preserved every flower and leaf, thereby creating a beautiful fusion of nature and traditional craftsmanship within these artworks.

The King of Norway was presented with an exquisitely delicate silver replica of a boat, crafted using Odisha's world-renowned 'Tarakashi' (filigree) art form. Originating in the city of Cuttack, this 500-year-old art form involves the use of extremely fine silver wires to create intricate, lattice-like patterns. This boat replica stands as a symbol of Odisha's maritime heritage and the exceptional craftsmanship of Indian artisans.

The Queen of Norway received an artwork created in the traditional 'Pattachitra' style, painted on palm leaves. In this ancient art form from Odisha, images are meticulously and delicately etched onto palm leaves. Structured as a series of foldable panels bound together by threads, this artwork represents a unique confluence of storytelling, fine art, and Indian tradition. The Crown Prince of Norway was presented with a 'Kalamkari' painting featuring depictions of the Sun and the Moon. Originating in Andhra Pradesh, this art form is renowned worldwide for its use of natural dyes and intricate hand-painted motifs. In this artwork, the Sun symbolizes energy and vitality, while the Moon is regarded as a symbol of peace and intuition.
