President Droupadi Murmu will embark on State Visits to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania today. At the invitation of President Maia Sandu, President Murmu will visit Moldova on 20 July. This is the first-ever visit by an Indian President to Moldova.

During the visit, President Murmu will hold delegation-level talks with her counterpart. She will also interact with members of the Moldova-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, address a Business Forum and meet members of the Indian community.

The visit to Moldova is expected to mark a significant and historic milestone and elevate bilateral ties to a broad-based partnership. President Murmu will also visit North Macedonia at the invitation of its President. This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian President to North Macedonia.

During the visit, she will hold bilateral talks with President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, meet Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the President of the Assembly, and address the Assembly of North Macedonia. She will also address the India-North Macedonia Business Forum.

On the final leg of her three-nation visit, President Murmu will visit Romania on 23 July. This will be the first visit by the President of India to Romania after a gap of more than three decades.

During the visit, President Murmu will meet President Nicușor Dan, the interim Prime Minister, the Senate President, the President of the Chamber of Deputies and members of the Romania-India Parliamentary Friendship Group. She will also address the India-Romania Business Forum and interact with members of the Indian community.

The President's State Visits to the three countries reflect the importance India attaches to strengthening bilateral ties with them, as well as its engagement with the wider Eastern European region.
