Droupadi Murmu is currently on a two-day visit to Maharashtra; today, she attended the convocation ceremony of the Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University in Wardha as the Chief Guest. On this occasion, she felicitated gold medal-winning students by presenting them with their medals. Furthermore, following the convocation ceremony, Ph.D. scholars were conferred with their degrees by the Vice-Chancellor, Kumud Sharma. The President addressed the gathering on this occasion.

The President remarked that, at the international level, the university actively promotes linguistic exchange and contributes significantly to the enrichment of all Indian languages. During the event, the President lauded the graduating students and urged them to uphold the ideals and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

Earlier in the day, the President visited the Sevagram Ashram, where she toured 'Ba Kuti,' 'Bapu Kuti,' and Bapu's office, gathering information about these historic sites. Subsequently, she participated in the prayer meeting and also engaged in tree-planting within the ashram premises, where she also tried her hand at spinning yarn.
