Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Pawana Direct Parallel Water Canal Project, which is being implemented keeping in mind the future needs of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, will be taken forward only with the consent, trust and dialogue of the farmers.

He was speaking yesterday at a meeting organized at the Vidhan Bhavan regarding the Pawana Water Supply Project. Water Resources Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and concerned public representatives were present at the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that new settlements are increasing day by day in the state and if water is not planned and used efficiently keeping in mind the needs of the growing population, a serious water crisis may arise in the future. He explained that the Pawana Direct Parallel Water Canal Project will be of utmost importance considering the future needs of Pimpri-Chinchwad city.
