Economic ties between India and New Zealand are gaining new momentum after the free trade agreement. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon noted that the positive effects of the agreement are already visible even before it is fully implemented.

He said that New Zealand apple exports to India have increased by 63 percent, making India the fourth largest market for New Zealand apples.

Prime Minister Luxon asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Auckland this week will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.

He stressed that this is not just an agreement to increase trade but a step linked to jobs, income and prosperity of the common people. According to him, a large market like India is opening doors of new opportunities for New Zealand.
