The Government of India has today notified the amendments to the regulations governing the supply and distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Under these amendments, domestic LPG consumers who opt for a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection will be provided with additional concessions and facilities. As per these newly revised provisions, consumers will have the option to cancel their LPG connection within 30 days of obtaining a PNG connection. Furthermore, in the event that they relocate in the future to an area where PNG facilities are unavailable, consumers have also been provided with the option to obtain a transfer voucher to reinstate their LPG connection. These decisions are expected to prove highly beneficial, particularly for transferable employees, migrating families, tenants, and students.
