A significant decision has been taken regarding the country's largest medical entrance examination—specifically, 'NEET UG 2026'. The 'National Testing Agency' (NTA) has cancelled the examination that was conducted on May 3rd. This decision was reached—following approval from the Central Government—against the backdrop of allegations regarding a paper leak and irregularities within the examination process.

The examination will now be re-conducted, and a new date for the same will be announced shortly. More than 20 lakh students will now be required to retake this examination. Students will not be required to pay any fee to appear for this re-examination. Furthermore, students do not need to submit fresh applications; the information (data) previously submitted by them will be considered valid.

The 'CBI' will now investigate the allegations regarding irregularities in the examination. With the objective of cooperating with this investigation, the NTA will hand over all necessary records and documents related to the examination to the CBI. Following this decision, mixed emotions—ranging from anxiety to outrage—are evident among both students and parents.
