Heavy rains have caused flooding in Karjat taluka of Raigad district. A 30 to 35 year old dam on the Chillar river near Ambivali village in Mograj Gram Panchayat limits has burst, causing a large amount of water to be released.

The dam has burst and water has entered the area, creating a large-scale waterlogged situation. Road connectivity to about 15 villages including Mograj, Rajpe, and Jambarung has been completely disrupted as the main road has gone under water.

The rapid flow of water directly entered the area, inundating the surrounding rice fields, causing huge losses to farmers. This sudden incident has created an atmosphere of anxiety and fear among the local citizens.

Meanwhile, in light of the flood situation, the local administration has issued a warning to villages along the river and appealed to citizens to stay in safe places.

Due to heavy rains, the Ulhas River in the area has also crossed the danger level. The administration is monitoring the situation and has appealed to citizens to take precautions and follow the administration's instructions in case of emergency.
