In a major operation conducted as part of a special drive against illegal activities, the Beed District Police destroyed a cannabis plantation cultivated within a sugarcane field in the Surlegaon area of ​​Georai Taluka.

During this operation, the police seized contraband worth a total of ₹48,27,650, comprising 253 cannabis plants along with stocks of dried and semi-dried cannabis.

Acting on confidential information, the Chaklamba police raided a sugarcane field located in Gat No. 113. Upon inspection, 253 cannabis plants of varying sizes were discovered. The total weight of these plants was 184 kg 400 grams, with an estimated value of ₹46,10,000.

Additionally, the police seized 4 kg 300 grams of dried cannabis (valued at ₹2,06,400) and 450 grams of semi-dried cannabis (valued at ₹11,250).

Proceedings are underway to register a case under the NDPS Act against Manoj alias Badal Bhagwan Andhale (age 36), a resident of Nagad Narayan Vasti, Surlegaon, Georai Taluka. The Chaklamba police are conducting further investigations into the matter.

This operation was successfully executed by a team led by Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Ingle, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Navneet Kawat, Additional Superintendent of Police Samir Shaikh, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Anil Katke.
