On the auspicious occasion of India's 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026, the main official state government ceremony was celebrated with grand fervor and patriotic pride at the Mantralaya courtyard in Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unfurled the National Flag to mark the historic milestone, followed by a ceremonial salute to the Tricolour. Delivering his Independence Day address, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asserted that Maharashtra holds a pivotal position in realizing the national vision of building a fully developed nation (*Viksit Bharat*). Describing Maharashtra as the undisputed 'Growth Engine' of India, the Chief Minister expressed strong confidence that the state would contribute the largest share toward national progress, economic expansion, and technological innovation in the coming years. He emphasized that Maharashtra will remain at the forefront of the country's multi-faceted growth story.

Holistic Vision for Viksit Bharat and Civic Responsibilities

Elaborating on the scope of national progress, Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted that the concept of a developed India extends far beyond macroeconomic growth figures and financial metrics. He clarified that true development means bringing meaningful, positive transformation to the daily lives of every citizen across all strata of society.

The Chief Minister stressed that the dream of a developed nation can only be realized when inclusive progress reaches marginalized communities, Dalits, tribal populations, farmers, agricultural laborers, and women. Reminding citizens of the fundamental rights and corresponding duties enshrined in the Indian Constitution, he urged everyone to work dedicatedly in the national interest and make conscious contributions toward keeping the Tricolour flying high with pride and dignity.

Accelerating State Progress on the 80th Milestone of Freedom

Marking the 80th year of India's independence, Chief Minister Fadnavis called upon the administration and the people of Maharashtra to accelerate the momentum of state-level development projects, infrastructure initiatives, and social welfare programs. He noted that strategic industrial investments and agrarian reforms within Maharashtra will serve as national benchmarks.

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister reiterated that Maharashtra is fully committed to playing a decisive leadership role in guiding India toward its 2047 development goals. He called for a unified collective resolve to ensure that economic prosperity, social harmony, and institutional integrity define the state's forward trajectory in the era of *Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal*.
