Bhopal – The Madhya Pradesh Police are consistently conducting effective campaigns across the state against the trafficking of illegal narcotics and intoxicants. As part of these ongoing efforts, police teams across various districts have carried out operations resulting in the seizure of Ganja, narcotic drugs, 'Smack,' and 'Doda Chura' (opium husk)—contraband collectively valued at over ₹1.49 crore. Additionally, narcotic cough syrups and injections have also been seized. Taking effective action against the trafficking of illegal narcotics, the Indore Police arrested five individuals involved in interstate trafficking and seized contraband—including the narcotic drug 'MD' and illegal weapons—worth approximately ₹1 crore. In the Sidhi district, under 'Operation Prahar 2.0,' a team from the Kamarji Police Station took decisive action by busting a gang involved in the trafficking of narcotic cough syrups; this operation resulted in the seizure of contraband worth over ₹11.88 lakh, including 912 bottles of 'Onerex' cough syrup and a Bolero vehicle. Meanwhile, in a joint operation conducted by the Kotwali and Jamodi Police Stations, 208 bottles of narcotic cough syrup and an 'Alto' car were seized, and the accused individual involved was arrested. Similarly, within the jurisdiction of the Rampur Naikin Police Station, two accused individuals were arrested, and 15 bottles of narcotic cough syrup were seized. In Mauganj, under 'Operation Prahar 2.0', the Laor police arrested a female accused near the Khiri Overbridge and seized 1,200 bottles of a banned narcotic cough syrup (Onerex) from her possession. The team from the Sarai Police Outpost in Anuppur district achieved a major breakthrough by seizing 56 kilograms of illicit *ganja* (cannabis), estimated to be worth approximately ₹6 lakh. The Shivpuri Kotwali police arrested an accused individual after catching him red-handed while selling 'smack' (a derivative of heroin); property worth approximately ₹4.50 lakh—including 15.82 grams of 'smack' and a motorcycle—was seized from him. Operating within the jurisdiction of the Karahal Police Station, the Sheopur police arrested four smugglers who were transporting 'smack' from Rajasthan. The police seized property worth approximately ₹5.35 lakh from the accused, which included 38.48 grams of 'smack' and two two-wheelers used for the smuggling operation. In the Guna district, conducting a major drive against illicit narcotics, the Cantt Police Station arrested two accused individuals and seized property worth approximately ₹15 lakh; the seized items included over 28 kilograms of *ganja*, a Bolero car, and a two-wheeler. Meanwhile, within the jurisdiction of the Mrigwas Police Station, two smugglers involved in trafficking *ganja* were arrested, and property worth approximately ₹2 lakh—including the two-wheeler used for smuggling and 2 kilograms of *ganja*—was seized. Similarly, the Dharanawada police arrested interstate 'smack' smugglers, seized illicit 'smack' from them, and took possession of property worth approximately ₹1.95 lakh. GRP Bhopal: Acting against illicit narcotics, GRP Bhopal seized 14.630 kilograms of 'Ganja' (valued at approximately ₹2.40 lakhs) and arrested the smuggler involved in this trafficking operation. Jabalpur: A joint team comprising the Police Crime Branch and the Hanumantal Police Station arrested two individuals involved in the illegal trade of narcotic injections and 'Ganja'; 125 narcotic injections, 430 grams of 'Ganja', and ₹18,000 in cash were seized from their possession.
