The 'Eliminator' match of IPL 2026 is currently underway at Mullanpur, featuring a clash between the Rajasthan Royals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. During this match, Rajasthan Royals' aggressive opening batsman, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, claimed the record for hitting the most sixes in a single season.

Vaibhav smashed 25 runs off Pat Cummins' bowling in the third over of the innings; this over included three sixes and a four. It was during this very over that he surpassed Gayle's record.
