Neemuch Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi inaugurated the 500 MW Neemuch and 450 MW Shajapur Solar Parks worth ₹2,080 crore and performed the groundbreaking ceremony and dedication ceremony for various development projects and industrial units worth ₹1,553.98 crore in Neemuch yesterday.

On this occasion, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Prahlad Joshi, said that this is the land of Goddess Saraswati (Vaagdevi). Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is carrying forward the legacy of Raja Bhoj in Madhya Pradesh. The state government has resolved to usher in the rise of development with the slogan "Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh."

Today, Neemuch and Shajapur in the state received the gift of new solar projects. Madhya Pradesh has the lowest solar energy tariff in the world at 2.14 paise per unit. This is a historic achievement. India is the second country in the world, after Switzerland, to have 100% electrification of railways. Madhya Pradesh provides electricity to the Indian Railways. The 440 MW solar plus storage project in Morena is a notable innovation in green energy. It provides electricity at 2.70 paise per unit even after sunset.

Meanwhile, the Gandhi Sagar Pumped Storage Project in Neemuch is India's largest project, generating electricity at half the cost of thermal power.
