Normal life has been disrupted in Thane district due to heavy rains accompanied by thunder since Wednesday morning. Water has accumulated in many low-lying areas of the district, and the water level of various rivers has reached near danger level.

The administration has appealed to citizens living along the riverbanks to remain vigilant and not leave their homes except for essential work.

Due to the continuous heavy rains for the past few days, many parts of the district have been flooded. The Khadavli and Bhatsa rivers are flowing in full flow. Due to the increase in the water level of the Bhatsa river on the Shahapur-Murbad road, water has accumulated on the road near Liberty Oil Company, affecting traffic.

Drivers are also facing difficulties due to heavy waterlogging on the road leading to Badlapur. Long queues of vehicles have formed at many places, forcing citizens to travel with caution.

Meanwhile, the Kamwari River in Bhiwandi is flowing at full speed, and the water level of the Ulhas River is also continuously rising. A warning has been issued to citizens living along the riverbanks.

Disaster management teams are on alert and the situation is being monitored continuously. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Thane district for the next few hours.

Citizens have been urged to avoid going to waterlogged areas, stay away from rivers, streams and dangerous places, and strictly follow the instructions of the administration.
