The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has successfully thwarted a major security threat by arresting eight individuals linked to the Pakistan-based, proscribed terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The arrests were made during coordinated operations across various districts in Gujarat and neighboring Madhya Pradesh.

Plot to Establish a Terror Network:

According to the ATS, the accused were in direct contact with handlers based in Pakistan. Their primary objective was to establish an active and extensive operational network within Gujarat to facilitate future terror activities.

To expand their reach, the operatives were actively translating JeM's radical ideology and literature into Gujarati. This translated material was intended to be disseminated locally to spread the group's agenda and recruit new members. During the investigation, authorities also uncovered evidence indicating that the module was receiving financial support directly from the Pakistan-based terror group.

Following their apprehension, all eight accused have been remanded to 14 days of police custody for further interrogation.
