Guardian Minister Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar on Wednesday felicitated farmers from Wardha district who were selected for the State Agriculture Awards for the years 2023 and 2024. The ceremony was held at his office in Mantralaya, Mumbai.

Congratulating the award-winning farmers, Dr. Bhoyar said their achievements at the state level were a matter of pride for the district. He interacted with the farmers and praised their dedication to innovative farming, effective use of modern technology, research-based practices and sustained hard work.

He expressed confidence that the success stories of these progressive farmers would inspire others across the state to adopt modern and sustainable agricultural practices. He also reiterated that the government remains committed to the welfare of farmers and to promoting sustainable, technology-driven and prosperous agriculture. MLA Rajesh Bakane was also present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, the State Agriculture Awards were presented by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the State Agriculture Day celebrations in Mumbai.

For the 2023 awards, Pratibha Pramod Mahajan, a progressive woman farmer from Pavani, received the Young Farmer Award for her innovative farming practices and effective use of modern technology. Deputy Agriculture Officer Manoj Jhibalarao Gaydhane was honoured with the Padma Shri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Award in the government category for effectively implementing and delivering government schemes to farmers during his administrative service.

For the 2024 awards, Nandkishor Kisanrao Gavande from Amgaon Madani in Seloo taluka received the Krishibhushan Award. Pranjal Vitthalrao Waghmare from Pavnar was honoured with the Young Farmer Award, while Abhay Nilkanthrao Dhokane from Amgaon Madani received the Vasantrao Naik Shetinishtha Farmer Award for his dedication and innovative contributions to agriculture.

Dr. Bhoyar felicitated all the award recipients and commended their outstanding contribution to the agricultural sector, encouraging them to continue adopting innovative and sustainable farming practices.
