Government ITI Udhampur, in collaboration with JPDCL Udhampur, organised a workshop-cum-awareness programme on solar energy, the PM Surya Ghar Scheme and rooftop solar installations under the

Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

Held under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, the programme aimed to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse while highlighting skill development and employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Experts from the solar industry and JPDCL briefed participants on different solar systems, their benefits, installation processes and career prospects. Resource persons also emphasised the importance of clean energy, environmental sustainability and energy security.

Superintendent ITI Udhampur, Er. Ravinder Singh Bhatti, stressed the role of skill development and awareness in preventing substance abuse and encouraged youth to contribute towards a drug-free society.
