The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken major action against the 'Goras Bhandar'—a dairy outlet operated by the Wardha Tehsil Cow Milk Producers' Cooperative Union—located in the city's Maganwadi area. Citing suspicions of adulteration, unhygienic conditions, and violations of food safety regulations, the administration has seized a stock of dairy products worth a staggering ₹25,86,168.

During an inspection of the Goras Bhandar conducted by a joint team from the FDA's Wardha and Nagpur divisions, it was observed that the production, storage, and sale of food products were being carried out in an unsanitary environment. Furthermore, it was discovered that various dairy products lacked the mandatory labeling required under the Food Safety and Standards Act.

As part of the operation, samples of cow's milk, buttermilk, ghee, and *khoya* were collected and sent to a laboratory for further analysis. Additionally, a total stock of ghee, *khoya*, and buttermilk valued at ₹25,86,168 was seized. Since buttermilk is a perishable commodity, the seized stock of buttermilk was destroyed on the spot.

Meanwhile, the concerned establishment has been ordered to suspend the production and sale of dairy products pending the receipt of the laboratory report and further administrative directives.

This action has created a stir within the district's dairy sector, and it is anticipated that the administration's crackdown on establishments violating food safety regulations will intensify further.
