A delegation led by Christopher Skeet, Minister of International Affairs of the Canadian province of Quebec, met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Vidhan Bhavan yesterday. During this meeting, discussions were held on increasing economic and educational cooperation between Maharashtra and Quebec.

Maharashtra is the fastest growing economy in India and accounts for about 40 percent of the total foreign investment in the country, said Chief Minister Fadnavis. Maharashtra is ready to partner with Quebec in various sectors and he expressed confidence that this cooperation will attract large-scale investment to the state.

The Chief Minister appealed to Quebec universities to open their doors to the EduCity project being set up in Navi Mumbai. He also pointed out that there is a huge opportunity for Quebec investors in the key mineral sector, given the investment opportunities that will yield long-term and sustainable results.
