India received several positive signals in the areas of investment and economic cooperation during Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's visit to France. At meetings held in Paris, global companies and financial institutions described India as a trusted investment destination and expressed their desire to expand long-term partnerships.

The Deputy CEO of BNP Paribas praised India's digital public infrastructure, stating that global investors' confidence in India continues to grow. Meanwhile, Flying Whales expressed its desire to make India a major hub for its manufacturing and operations.

Addressing the India-France Business Roundtable, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said bilateral trade between India and France has doubled over the past decade, and nearly 1,000 French companies are doing business in India. She highlighted the vast investment potential in sectors such as the digital economy, green energy, healthcare, semiconductors, green hydrogen, and infrastructure.

During the meeting, major French companies like Amundi and Air Liquide also showed interest in increasing investments in India, expanding their businesses and making India an important hub of global operations.

The Finance Minister invited the French industry to partner in the vision of "Developed India 2047", saying that India's rapid economic growth, stable policies and reform-oriented approach are offering new opportunities for foreign investors.
