The Delhi High Court has refused to interfere with social activist Sonam Wangchuk's ongoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital. The court stated that the government's decision to transfer Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar to the hospital cannot be considered arbitrary.

Justice Mini Pushkarna stated that there was no need to immediately order Wangchuk's transfer to a private hospital. Doctors are monitoring his condition and he is being treated with his consent.

The court was hearing a petition filed by Wangchuk's wife, Geetanjali Angmo, seeking Wangchuk's transfer to a private hospital.

The court issued notices to the central government, Safdarjung Hospital, and Delhi Police, seeking their response within three days.

Wangchuk was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital by police yesterday, the 21st day of his hunger strike.
