In the wake of demands from various student organizations, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting in Mumbai with Maharashtra Public Service Commission Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar, the state's Chief Secretary, and senior officials of the General Administration Department.

The Chief Minister said that the government's priority is to ensure that the examination process is safe, transparent and completed on time. He expressed the hope that the examination procedure should be more transparent, the examinations should be conducted on time and their results should also be declared on time.

While reforming the examination process, the transition from one system to another must be smooth and planned. For this, all the relevant agencies must be given sufficient time and opportunity to prepare, the Chief Minister clarified.

The decision to implement the computer-based examination system should be implemented in a phased manner. This new process should not be implemented immediately but should be implemented from August 2027, so that students get sufficient time to prepare and all the institutions conducting the examination can also make necessary preparations, directed Chief Minister Fadnavis.

Till then, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission exams should be conducted as per the current practice. The Chief Minister also indicated in the meeting that the MPSC will take further decisions in this regard.

It was clarified at this time that further reforms will be implemented by balancing the interests of students, transparency in the examination process, and the preparedness of administrative mechanisms.
