Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's criticism of India's education system. While interacting with reporters, he reiterated that the state government had taken timely and effective action in the NEET UG exam and paper leak cases.

Speaking about the activities related to paper-tearing in the backdrop of the NEET UG exam, the Chief Minister said that the government actively investigated and arrested the accused who were involved in paper-tearing. It was due to this action that the decision to postpone the NEET UG exam was taken.

Chief Minister Fadnavis clarified that the Maharashtra government and the state police had taken this action before the paper leak, not after it. He therefore noted that the state machinery intervened in time to maintain the credibility of the examination process.

Stating that it is necessary to keep the facts in mind while criticizing the education system, Chief Minister Fadnavis clarified that the state government's policy is zero tolerance against those who engage in exam malpractices. He also said that strict action will continue to be taken to curb such malpractices in the future.
