Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is currently on a two-day visit to Uttarakhand. During this tour, he arrived in Uttarkashi to review the special intensive revision initiatives being implemented in the border areas; there, he was welcomed by Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam and ADM (Additional District Magistrate) Mukta Mishra. The Chief Election Commissioner personally inspected the polling station at 'Harsil'—a village situated in the border region—and gathered information regarding the 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) campaign. During this visit, he held detailed discussions with 'Booth Level Officers' (BLOs) to review the progress of voter list revision, mapping, and other tasks being executed through the use of smartphones. Furthermore, he commended the BLOs for the excellent work they are performing in the border areas. Following the inspection, the Chief Election Commissioner proceeded to Gangotri Dham, where he performed special prayers and also conducted a review meeting with officials regarding the SIR initiatives.
