Assam Police has issued an urgent advisory to schools across the state, urging them not to post photographs or videos on social media that could reveal the identity of children.

The advisory specifically warns against sharing student’s full names, class details, identity cards, location information, phone numbers or any other personal data. Police said cybercriminals may misuse such information for activities including AI-based image morphing, cyberbullying, identity theft, fraud and sextortion.

Schools have been advised to avoid posting identifiable photographs, names, class details, location updates or real-time information about students on social media platforms. The advisory also recommends reviewing all child-related content carefully before uploading it online.
