The Meteorological Department has issued an 'Orange Alert' for the state's districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh, in view of the rainfall expected over the next 36 hours; meanwhile, a 'Yellow Alert' has been declared for the remaining districts.

According to the department, there is a possibility of hailstorms and gusty winds occurring in various parts of the state during this period. Additionally, snowfall has been forecast for regions situated at altitudes exceeding 4,000 meters.

The Meteorological Department has urged 'Char Dham' pilgrims to commence their journey only after taking the weather forecast into consideration. Furthermore, travelers have been advised to seek shelter in a safe location should they encounter adverse weather conditions.
